DREAMWAVE Wrestling: LaSalle goes Global on iPPV!

1/24/11

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Jay Repsel Presents DREAMWAVE Wrestling: “Season Premiere” February 5th, 2011

LASALLE – DREAMWAVE Wrestling was introduced to the Midwest on April 4, 2009. On February 5th, 2011, it will be introduced to the world. DREAMWAVE returns to LaSalle, IL at the Knights of Columbus with “Season Premiere” broadcast live around the world on Internet Pay Per View! The stars of wrestling’s future will be on display as well as former WWE/WCW Superstar “Big Sexy” Kevin Nash!

“By far, this is the most excitement I have seen in the wrestling business” said DREAMWAVE owner Jay Repsel. “This is an opportunity of a lifetime to be able to take our product, our fans and our brand out of the Midwest and put it all in front of the world. We have everything any fan of wrestling would want to see and we are anxious to let people know that a great thing is happening in this little town.” Repsel continued, “Anyone that has Internet access and $9.99 can sign up and give us a chance to earn their entertainment dollar. I can just about guarantee they won’t be disappointed.”

The main event of the card is a rematch between Ring of Honor (ROH) star Davey Richards and DREAMWAVE World Champion Jason Hades. Although Hades defeated him in their first contest, many consider Richards as the “pound for pound” best wrestler in the world. He has competed from the United States to Japan and everywhere in between to build that reputation. DREAMWAVE made another splash by signing “Big Sexy” Kevin Nash to appear on the Pay Per View. Nash is considered one of the biggest stars in wrestling history having captured the WWE and WCW World Championships on 6 occasions and spearheading the “Monday Night Wars” by joining WCW and forming the NWO in 1996.

Internet Pay Per View (iPPV) is a new entertainment trend gaining popularity, which allows a live event to be streamed over the Internet and watched in real time on a home computer or a TV, by connecting them both together. DREAMWAVE did not hesitate to jump to the forefront of this trend. “We were approached by 1GimmickWorld a couple of months ago to consider the option of iPPV”, Repsel explained. “This is a pretty new curve for the wrestling industry and we want to be on the front end of technology pushing the envelope, not following behind. They are a growing company out of Chicago working in the MMA field that wanted to expand their portfolio into wrestling. After meeting with them and seeing them in action, I felt it would be a fantastic partnership.”

“2011 is going to be a huge year for this company and I want to encourage everyone to jump on board and enjoy the ride”, Repsel said.

With the excitement building, you don’t want to miss DREAMWAVE Wrestling: “Season Premiere” February 5th LIVE around the world on iPPV!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Posted by gschroeder On January - 3 - 2011

Over the Holiday break I was amused by some of the new laws which took effect January 1, 2011.   I was glad to see the Bush Tax rates (not cuts!!!) were extended albeit not without some increase deficit spending added in.  I believe to really stimulate the economy there should have actually been tax cuts to businesses.  Along with reining in government spending, this would put more activity (read job growth) in action and prime the pump for more growth in the private sector.  All we have seen thus far is government growth and financial burdens growing on the taxpayers.  This must end and soon!

Locally I am alarmed that we have seen here in LaSalle our sales tax revenue drop for three straight months!  We are losing $45,000 to $50,000 per month compared to last year.  Our comptroller feels its the change in ownership at Flying J .  Pilot took over or merged about the same time the revenues began to drop.  She has been attempting to find the answer with the State and Pilot but thus far we have not seen a correction.  If this keeps up much longer we will be forced to borrow money via a cash working bond(not something I prefer at this strapped time) or at worse layoffs (hopefully temporary). Stay tuned!

The above issue is one of the reasons I moved that we not buy pre purchased computer labor package from Connecting Point.  At our last meeting it was offered at a reduced rate of 7-8% if we pay up front and draw on the hours as needed over the next couple of years.  It would have required a payout of $7,000 to 8,000 at a time when cash flow is challenged.  Fortunately Alderman Green and the majority of the Council agreed with me  and we decided against doing it at this time.

Getting back to the laws I was amused with, it seems as of 1/1/2011 in Illinois you can no longer purchase a primate as a pet.  I don’t know anyone who has a pet monkey, chimp, or gorilla but if you were thinking about getting one, I hope you made your purchase in time.  I guess the bad news is it will add to the unemployment levels here in Illinois.  I can see all those monkey salesmen down at the government offices applying for unemployment compensation starting today.  But seriously folks, with the State in the trouble its in , is this what our elected officials have been debating in Springfield…..monkey business?

And in other news, from the State of New Mexico…Governor Richardson has decided not to pardon “Billy the Kid”.  Whats surprising is he admitted he has been working on this issue for EIGHT YEARS!  Really?  When will those elected realize that there are issues and there are IMPORTANT issues!

And we wonder why nothing gets fixed anymore…believe me we need LESS government not more…

And finally the House of Representatives today decided not to allow anyone who is a lobbyist access to the House health club because our representatives don’t want to be bothered while they “work out”.  I guess its still okay to bother them when they are actually doing the country’s business!

As the late Paul Harvey would say……..”Good Day”
